ABSTACT
Dumai City is a city in Riau Province, Indonesia, about 188 km from
Pekanbaru City. Dumai is a city with the third largest administrative area in
Indonesia, after Palangka Raya City and Tidore Islands City. The city originated
from a small hamlet on the east coast of Riau Province. The average height is 3
meters above sea level. Dumai City itself has problems with places where people
and some communities gather and family recreation areas.
In this title, "YOUTH CENTER" is taken which applies the principle of
"BUILDING AS NATURE" as a theory of the design of the building and is also
included as one of the principles of ORGANIC ARCHITECTURE. Youth Center
is a place where young people can meet and participate in various activities.
activities, such as basketball, table tennis, games, and art activities. There are also
youth clubs or centers that vary in their activities with various cultural contexts,
by making "YOUTH CEBTER" it can reduce problems for people in Dumai City
today.
From this, the Youth Center in Dumai this time can be a bridge and a place to
increase positive and creative activities. And also has the function of education,
information, and recreation. In addition, being able to realize architecture that can
increase creativity, innovation, through elements of architectural space that exist
in the Youth center design. Where in this design the Youth center can be an
example of creativity and innovation in Architecture. Not only looking at the object
as an architecture, but also looking at the object as a function.
