Pola Lingkaran Pertumbuhan Otolith Pada Ikan Barau (Hampala Macrolepidota Khul & Van Hasselt, 1823) Di Danau Teluk Petai Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau
Abstract
Helostoma temminckii is a type of fish that lives in the Lubuk Siam oxbow lake and has high economic value. The fish capture activities, however, are conducted throughout the year and it may lead to reducing the fish population. A study aims to determine the standing stock, growth rate, mortality, and exploitation rate of H. temminckii in that lake was conducted in January to February 2021. Fish samples were collected from fishermen that caught the fish using gill nets. Parameters measured were total length (TL) and the number of captured fish. The standing stock data were analyzed using a Leslie method, while the growth rate, mortality and exploitation rate were analyzed using FISAT II software. Results shown that the fish stock was 22.68 kg, the initial population stock (No) was 492.575 kg, the final population stock (Nt) was 491.255 kg, the CPUE in January was 0.067, in February was 0.054. Results shown that the growth pattern of the fish was negative allometric. The length frequency distribution ranged from 150 to 264 mm. Results of Von Bertalanffy growth equation shown that Lt = 261.45 (1- e 1.3 (t+ 0.067)) which means the asymptothed length (L
of H. temminckii was 261.45, growth coefficient (K) was 1.3 per year and the theoretical age (t0) was equal to 0.067. Total mortality (Z) of the fish was 2.05 per year. The estimation of natural mortality rate (M) was 1.15 per year and mortality due to catch (F) was 0.90 per year, The exploitation rate (E) of the fish was 0.44 and it is less than the optimum rate which is 0.50.
