The slow growth and limited availability of snake-head fish (Channa

striata) seeds are challenges caused by environmental changes, resulting in low productivity. Water exchange at different percentages is expected to be an effective alternative to improve the culture environment to meet optimal needs. This study aims to examine the effect of water exchange at different percentages on the growth and survival rate of snake-head fish larvae. The study was conducted over 40 days using a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments: P1 (no water exchange), P2 (30% water exchange), P3 (40% water exchange), and P4 (50% water exchange). The parameters measured included absolute weight, absolute length, specific growth rate, survival rate, and water quality. The results showed that treatment P4 produced the best results in all growth parameters, with a survival rate of 97.78%, followed by P3 with an absolute weight increase of 0.88 g and a survival rate of 84.44%, then P2 with an absolute weight increase of 0.75 g and a survival rate of 84.44%, and the lowest growth observed in P1 with an absolute weight increase of 0.58 g and a survival rate of 70.00%. Rearing snake-head larvae without water exchange reduced growth effectiveness and water quality. In conclusion, higher percentages of water exchange can maintain water quality and minimize stress on the fish due to environmental changes.
