Pengaruh Berbagai Dosis Pupuk Kascing Dan Pupuk Npk Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Tanaman Bawang Merah (Allium Ascalonicum L.)
ABSTRACT
Shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) is a horticultural crop widely used as a cooking
ingredient and in traditional medicine. In Riau Province, the increasing population
has led to a higher demand for shallots. One way to meet this demand is by
improving production through fertilization, using either organic or inorganic
fertilizers. This study aimed to determine the interaction and the best combination
of organic kascing (vermicompost) fertilizer and inorganic NPK fertilizer on the
growth and yield of shallot plants. The experiment was arranged in a factorial
design using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors: kascing
fertilizer (0, 10, 20, and 25 t.ha⁻¹) and NPK fertilizer (150, 200, and 250 kg.ha⁻¹),
resulting in 36 experimental units. Each unit consisted of 16 plants, with 4 plants
used as samples. Observed parameters included plant height, number of leaves,
number of bulbs per clump, bulb diameter, fresh bulb weight per plot, and storable
bulb weight per plot. The data were analyzed using Duncan’s Multiple Range Test
at a 5% significance level. The results showed that the interaction between kascing
and NPK fertilizers had no significant effect on most parameters. However, the
combination of 25 t.ha⁻¹ kascing and 200 kg.ha⁻¹ NPK produced the best results in
terms of growth and yield of shallot plants.
