transformasi digital pada umkm: peta global dan tren penelitian
The rapid advancement of digital technologies and the evolving business landscape have motivated MSMEs to engage in digital transformation. Although research on digital transformation in MSMEs is growing globally, there remains a lack of studies that clearly identify the specific types of support that are most critical to the success of this transformation. Therefore, the urgency of this research: 1) Present an overview of how research on digital transformation in MSMEs has evolved on a global scale; and 2) Provide strategic suggestions to drive future research on digital transformation among MSMEs. The objectives of this study are to analyze: 1) The key factors most commonly associated with successful digital transformation in MSMEs; 2) the map of digital transformation research in MSMEs; and 3) future trends in digital transformation research in MSMEs.
This study employed a systematic literature review method, incorporating both bibliometric and content analysis. The research protocol involved 51 articles retrieved from the Scopus database for the bibliometric analysis. Data collection was conducted using the Publish or Perish tool to search Scopus, while Excel and Mendeley were utilized for quantitative analysis and bibliographic management. The bibliometric analysis was carried out using a combination of Biblioshiny (R Studio) and VOSviewer software.
The results showed that the most frequently discussed factors related to the success of digital transformation in MSMEs include: digital competence of employees, digital literacy of MSME owners, innovation in business models, business partners, and organizational culture. The research map of digital transformation in MSMEs maps seven main themes in the research including: digital technology, dynamic capabilities, digitalization, MSMEs, big data, manufacturing sector, and innovation. Future research trends of digital transformation in MSMEs include: digital technology adoption, dynamic capabilities, adaptive leadership, digital literacy, sustainable innovation, managerial readiness, and external support.
This study used bibliographic data from Scopus, but the results of bibliometric analysis may differ depending on the database selected. The article screening process contains certain selection biases, which may cause some important articles to be missed due to coverage limitations. Additionally, variations in the use of indicators and visualization techniques may lead to differing results. Therefore, for future research, it is recommended that researchers: 1) utilize a broader range of databases to minimize the risk of missing crucial studies; 2) combine multiple databases to ensure more representative and comprehensive results; and 3) employ diverse analytical methods to enhance the validity and accuracy of the findings.
