the impact of using quizizz application on students’ learning outcomes in learning procedure text for 10th grade students at sma n 2 tambang
The use of technology in learning is essential in the 4.0 era. However, English learning at SMA Negeri 2 Tambang still relies on conventional methods, especially in teaching procedure text. This makes students less active and affects their learning outcomes. This research aimed to find out the impact of using the Quizizz application, especially the Lesson Mode and Paper Mode features, on the learning outcomes of tenth-grade students. It also offers benefits for teachers, students, schools, and future researchers in applying technology-based learning. The method used was a one-group pre-test and post-test design involving 38 students from class X.7. The data were collected through multiple-choice written tests given before and after the treatment using the Quizizz Lesson Mode and Paper Mode features. The results showed an increase in the average score from 70.87 to 79.13 with p < 0.001 and a large effect size. Student performance also became more consistent. Most learning goals were achieved, except for vocabulary mastery. The use of Quizizz, especially Lesson Mode and Paper Mode, had a noticeable positive impact on students’ understanding of procedure texts and their learning outcomes. However, vocabulary development showed little improvement and may require additional strategies. Teachers are encouraged to combine Quizizz with contextual approaches to maximize learning impact across all language skills.
