Rancangbangun Sistem Penyiraman Kebun Kelapa Sawit Skala Kecil Menggunakan Arduino
ABSTRACT
Oil palm plants require consistent irrigation to maintain optimal soil moisture and ambient temperature for healthy growth. However, manual irrigation methods commonly used in small-scale plantations are often inefficient in terms of time, labor, and water usage. This project aims to design and develop an automatic irrigation system using an Arduino Uno microcontroller, applied to a 23 meter by 76 meter oil palm plantation. The system utilizes a soil moisture sensor and a temperature-humidity sensor (DHT22) to monitor environmental conditions in realtime. Based on sensor readings, the system automatically activates a solenoid valve when the soil moisture drops below 75% or the ambient temperature exceeds 28°C, and deactivates it when the soil moisture reaches 80% or the temperature falls below 24°C. The system is expected to improve irrigation efficiency, conserve water usage, and reduce the need for manual labor. This prototype presents an appropriate and accessible technological solution for small to medium-scale oil palm farmers.
