Analisis Peran Inspektorat Dalam Pengawasan Intern Pada Pemerintah Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti

This research aims to analyze the role of Inspektorat in the internal control at the government of Meranti island district. This research is a qualitative research using Soft System Methodology approach. The purpose of this research is to knowing how the role and effort done by Inspektorat in the internal control system.The results of research showed Inspektorat have tried carry out internal control activities although not optimal. The problem by Inspektorat are that regulations regarding the internal control has been compiled and legalized through regent regulations, but needs to be updated according to the latest regulations. In addition, the existing human resources are still inadequate in terms of both quality and quantity to conduct internal control, and budget constrains, facilities and infrastructure to support the internal control activities.
To solve the problems this study provides recommendations to Inspektorat of the Meranti Islands District to arrange regulations of internal control according to the latest regulations, improving the quality of human resources through education, training and development, and provide adequate budget, facilities and infrastructure to support the internal control activities.
