Peran Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (Ojk) Provinsi Riau Dalam Memberantas Platform Pinjaman Online (Pinjol) (Studi Kasus Pengguna Pinjol Di Kota Pekanbaru)

The advancement of digital technology today encourages more people to use financial technology (fintech) services. However, this progress has also led to the emergence of illegal online loan (pinjol) platforms that have the potential to harm the public. The method used in this study is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The results show that in terms of facilities, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) provides protection to online loan consumers through complaint channels such as the Consumer Protection Portal Application (APPK) and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institution for the Financial Services Sector (LAPS SJK). Meanwhile, regarding users of illegal pinjol services, OJK, through the Task Force for the Eradication of Illegal Financial Activities (Satgas PASTI), takes firm actions by blocking websites or applications that do not have official permits. In the educational aspect, OJK actively conducts socialization activities, seminars, and utilizes various media as outreach tools to the public. In terms of representation, OJK collaborates with 16 institutions within Satgas PASTI and also provides legal protection through its policies and regulations. Meanwhile, on the technical side, OJK carries out various efforts such as conducting the National Survey on Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK), organizing cyber patrols, and utilizing the Fintech Lending Data Center (PUSDAFIL). The conclusion of this study indicates that although OJK has taken various steps to combat illegal pinjol platforms, several challenges remain. These include the high enthusiasm of the public for pinjol services, limited access to education in remote areas, and the absence of specific regulations that explicitly protect consumers from the proliferation of illegal online loan activities.
