Perilaku Membolos Siswa Di Sma Negeri 1 Dayun Kabupaten Siak
This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Dayun, located in Sialang Sakti Village, Dayun District, Siak Regency. The study aims to analyze the factors influencing students’ truancy behavior. In this context, truancy is categorized into two types: being absent without explanation from the first lesson (commonly referred to as alpa) and leaving school during school hours after attending the initial class. The research employs a descriptive quantitative method, with data analyzed using the Guttman scale—where a "yes" response is scored as 2 and a "no" response is scored as 1. Data processing was carried out systematically and in- depth to objectively identify the dominant contributing factors. The findings reveal that students’ truancy behavior at SMA Negeri 1 Dayun is influenced by two major groups of factors: internal and external. External factors proved to be more dominant, evidenced by a Guttman score of 54 from students who admitted to skipping school due to a lack of parental attention. Other significant external contributors include peer influence, family economic conditions, and an unsupportive school environment. On the other hand, internal factors— such as low learning motivation (score of 46), habitual tardiness (score of 44), and laziness (score of 38)—also play an important role but are not as influential as external factors. Efforts to reduce truancy behavior at SMA Negeri 1 Dayun must be carried out comprehensively, involving the active participation of parents, improvements in the learning environment, and the enhancement of students’ internal motivation to increase both discipline and academic performance.
