Selektivitas Penjerapan Ion Logam Berat Kadmium(Ii) Dan Besi(Iii) Dalam Campuran Menggunakan Arang Aktif Dari Biosorben Cangkang Kelapa Sawit (Elaeis Guineensis Jacq.)
Monstera deliciosa Liebm is a plant that creeps on trees and can be used as an ornamental plant that belongs to the Araceae family. This study aims to isolate and identify secondary metabolite compounds from the n-hexane fraction of M. deliciosa stems and conduct toxicity testing of secondary metabolite extracts from
M. deliciosa stems using the brine shrimp lethality test (BSLT) method. Isolation of secondary metabolites from this plant using gravity column chromatography resulted in 7 combined fractions. Fraction 2 was recrystallized and obtained white needle-shaped crystals weighing 11.2 mg. The compound was labeled MD-H2-F2. The melting point test results of this compound were obtained at 127-129ºC. The MD-H-F2 compound was characterized using an FTIR spectrophotometer. IR spectrum results were obtained at wave numbers 3282 cm-1 (-OH), 2935 cm-1 (C- H aliphatic), 1465 cm-1 (CH2), 1380 cm-1 (CH3), 1054 cm-1 (C-O alcohol) and 958 cm-1 (=CH alkene). Based on the results of characterization and qualitative tests with KLT plates, MD-H-F2 compounds were suspected to be β-sitosterol compounds. Toxicity tests were carried out using the BSLT method and obtained the results of M. deliciosa extract is not toxic because it has an LC50 value > 1000 ppm.
