Peatlands in Kampar Regency are located in one of the villages, namely Rimbo Panjang Village, Tambang District, which are used for agricultural areas, plantations, housing locations and highways. In addition to the many benefits of peatland areas utilized by the community, it is possible that peatlands also have weaknesses that will have a negative impact on the surrounding community, namely peatland fires. Peat fires often occur in Indonesia.

In addition to the many benefits of peatland areas utilized by the community, it is possible that peatlands also have weaknesses that will have a negative impact on the surrounding community, namely peatland fires. Peat fires often occur in Indonesia. The results of the study showed that the peat depth obtained from 4 measurements was at a resistivity value of 45 – 106 ohm.m. For the groundwater level depth (GWL) obtained from 4 measurements, the resistivity value was 43 – 94 ohm.m, which is wet peat, and the resistivity value of 45 – 49 ohm.m is dry peat.
