Keberhasilan Terapi Medikamentosa Berdasarkan International Prostatic Symptom Score Pasien Benign Prostate Hyperplasia Simptomatik Di Klinik Urologi Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau
Benign prostate hyperplasia is a hystopathological condition of developing stroma and epithelial cell of prostate gland. International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) is a screening tool used for assessing the symptoms of obstruction caused by prostate enlargement. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the success rate of medication therapy using IPSS in symptomatic BPH patients of Urology Clinic at Arifin Achmad Hospital of Riau Province. Data for this cross sectional analytical study were taken from IPSS and medical record of the patients. There were 100 samples for the data. The results show the highest incidenceof age 60 – 69 years old (38%), 50 % patients with mild IPSS level and 50% patients with high IPSS level before the medication, 70% patients administered tamsulosin 0,2 mg as first-line therapy, 35% patients administered medication for 7 months until one year, and 3% patients with high IPSS after the medication.Conclusion the Wilcoxon test was use to find whether there was a different correlation between IPSS level before medication and after medication (p
