Pembuatan Mesin Sentrifugal Pemisah Cairan Latex
ABSTRACT
Definition of Centrifugation or centrifugation technique is a mixture separation technique that is carried out by utilizing centrifugal force. This technique is most often used when dealing with the field of biochemistry, particularly in the separation of macromolecules or colloids from other liquids. In theory, centrifugation utilizes centrifugal force where this centrifugal force is a circular motion away from the center of the circle. It can be said that the centrifugal force is the opposite of the centripetal force. The process or technique of centrifugation itself is carried out using a tool called a centrifuge. Centrifuge itself is a kind of rotating device that is currently developing in terms of the form and technology used. When this component is included in the example above, for example blood or milk. The centrifugal machine will do the separation with the concept that the denser components in this liquid will move away from the centrifugal axis and form another precipitate. And then there will be a component or other liquid that can be removed by decantation. This has seen the increasing use of centrifuges required for the separation of latex liquids. The purpose of making a centrifugal machine with a capacity of 2 liters and a rotational speed of up to 10,000 rpm will be beneficial for researchers, especially researchers from chemical engineering. This centrifugal machine uses an electric motor powered by 5HP with an electric motor rotation of 25,000rpm which will produce a fairly high centrifugal force. This centrifugal machine also uses a transmission in the form of a pulley with a ratio of 1: 2 this is done so that the electric motor can increase the power during the centrifugal process and so that it doesn't heat up easily and can even be damaged quickly. The process that is carried out to make this centrifugal machine is starting from the redesign of the frame, machining process, and welding. The other components of the centrifugal machine are the frame, drive shaft, main shaft, swing rotor, and cover. The latex liquid separator centrifugal machine has dimensions of 730 mm long, 600 mm wide and 700 mm high. In the process of operating this centrifugal machine, it uses a switch to activate the electric motor which then activates a potentiometer or commonly called a dimmer which functions to regulate the incoming current so that the rotational speed is increased and the rotation results can be read on the display located on the cover of this centrifugal machine.
