Kaji Eksperimental Pengaruh Temperatur Bahan Bakar Biosolar B40 Terhadap Unjuk Kerja Mesin Diesel Dengan Rasio Kompresi 21:1
Along with the increasing consumption of domestic diesel fuel oil with an average consumption rate of 5% per year and production of only 75% of the total demand, the reserves of fuel are getting depleted from year to year. There are many alternatives that can be done to overcome the reduced availability of petroleum. One of them is to use a mixture of vegetable oils into pure diesel, which is called biodiesel. The use of biodiesel needs to be made a little change in the engine that can affect engine performance, one of which is by varying the fuel temperature. This research is planned by varying the fuel temperature using biodiesel B40 and aims to determine the performance of the diesel engine. The parameters calculated include, Δh at the orifice, the volume of fuel used, fuel consumption time, and engine rpm. In the tests carried out, it was found that variations in fuel temperature affect engine performance parameters such as effective shaft power, average effective pressure, thermal efficiency values, air fuel ratio, and specific fuel consumption. The test results of fuel temperature with variations of 50oC, 55oC, 60oC, 65 oC and 70oC. Where for the value of the largest effective shaft power and bmep at a temperature of 70oC with a value of 3.220 kW at a load of 25000 kg/m2 and bmep of 823.742 N/m2, for the value of thermal efficiency, specific fuel consumption, the best air and fuel ratio at a temperature of 65oC with a thermal efficiency value of 84.093% at a load of 25000 kg/m2, for a better air-fuel ratio with a value of 187.259 at a load of 5000 kg/m2, and the smallest specific fuel consumption with a value of 0.00000252 kg/kJ at a load of 25000 kg/m2.
