Kaji Eksperimental Pengaruh Temperatur Bahan Bakar Biosolar B40 Terhadap Unjuk Kerja Mesin Diesel Dengan Rasio Kompresi 21:1 Dan Tekanan Injeksi 150 Bar
Efforts are being made to reduce dependence on fuel by substituting with vegetable and animal fuels. Biodiesel is one of the vegetable and animal oils that has been used as a substitute for diesel oil because it has similar properties to diesel oil and is composed of monoalkyl esters of long chain fatty acids. However, the direct use of 100% biodiesel as fuel will reduce the performance of the diesel engine because the viscosity and density of 100% biodiesel are higher than diesel fuel which makes the injector ejection process less good so that combustion is not perfect. This research past tens varying the fuel temperature using biodiesel B40 and aims to determine the performance of the diesel engine and increase the injection pressure. The parameters calculated include, h at the orifice, the volume of fuel used, fuel consumption time, and engine rpm. In the tests carried out, it was found that variations in fuel temperature (50oC, 55oC, 60oC, 65oC and 70oC) affect engine performance parameters such as effective shaft power, average effective pressure, thermal efficiency values, air fuel ratio, and specific fuel consumption. As results the maximum effective shaft power was 3,7892 kW at 25,000 kg/m2 and BMEP was 1275,321 N/m2 at 28,000 kg/m2, for thermal efficiency, specific fuel consumption, ratio of air and the best fuel at a temperature of 65oC with a thermal efficiency value of 92,333 % at 25,000 kg/m2, for a better air-fuel ratio was 157,660 at 5,000 kg/m2, and the smallest specific fuel consumption was 0.00002291 kg/kJ at 25,000 kg/m2.
