Pengembangan Kepariwisataan Dalam Meningkatkan Kunjungan Wisatawan Era Pandemi Covid-19 Di Provinsi Riau Tahun 2020-2021

ABSTRACT
This research was conducted at the Riau Province Tourism Office. The background is the decline in the number of tourist visits to Riau Province and the collapse of the tourism sector's economy due to the covid-19 pandemic in 2020-2021. The purpose of this research is to find out the efforts of the Riau Province Tourism Office in developing tourism so that tourist visits increase in the era of the covid-19 pandemic in 2020-2021 and the supporting factors for this development. The theoretical concept used by researchers is the concept of development by Geoff Mulgan (2009: 05) there are five stages, namely: goals, environment, direction, action, and learning. The type of research in this thesis is a type of qualitative descriptive research where the descriptive data is the answers from the research informants and analyzed by the researcher. Informants were taken using the snowball sampling technique, namely the technique of taking data sources which were initially small in number then became larger. Data collection methods that the authors use in this study are observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results of this study are that tourism development in the era of the covid-19 pandemic in 2020-2021 by the Riau Province Tourism Office has been carried out properly and was able to increase the number of tourist visits in 2021 by 94.96% and an increase in the length of stay of foreign tourists by 65.64% from the paralysis of the tourism sector in the era of the covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
