AULIA RAHMI UTARI, NIM. 2110246747, The Influence of the Brain Based Learning Model on Systems of Linear Equations and Inequalities on Improving the Mathematical Critical Thinking Abilities and Metacognitive of Phase E Students in Kecamatan Pinggir.
One of the abilities needed in the 21st century in the world of education is the ability to think critically mathematics, thus making students individuals who are able to face global challenges in the era society 5.0. The results of the preliminary study stated that students mathematical critical thinking skills were still relatively low because the average student score was only 46,47 (not reaching 50). Critical thinking skills can be optimized if teachers know the extent of students thinking process abilities in solving problems. Awareness of these cognitive processes can be interpreted as metacognitive abilities. Efforts to create optimal critical mathematical and metacognitive thinking skills for students are to create interactive classes that are able to optimize brain performance by applying appropriate learning models, one of which is the Brain Based Learning (BBL) model.
The objectives of this research are, 1) to comprehensively describe the results of research on the influence of the BBL model on improving student mathematical critical thinking skills (KBKM) and metacognitive abilities (KM) as a whole and in the students KAM group; 2) comprehensively describe the results of research on the interaction between learning factors and KAM factors on improving students mathematical critical thinking and metacognitive abilites. The benefit of this research is to provide input for teachers and education practitioners regarding the application of the BBL model and broaden researcher insight regarding the application og the BBL model.
This research is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental pretest posttest control group design method. The research population was all public high school students in Kecamatan Pinggir with a sample of 138 students spread across two school. The main research instruments are KBKM test sheets and metacognitive questionnaires as well as supporting instruments, namely ATP, Teaching Modules and LKPD. The main and supporting instruments have gone through the validation stage with expert review and were declared valid. Data analysis was carried out on students KAM data, pretest result, posttest result and questionnaries before and after treatment.
The results of the hypothesis test stated that there was a difference in the increase in KBKM between students who received BBL learning (experimental class) and student who received scientific approach (PS) learning (control class). The average N-Gain value of students who received BBL learning was higher than students who received PS learning respectively, namely 0,45 (medium category) and 0,22 (love category). The results of the hypothesis test also stated that there was a difference in the increase in KBKM based on the KAM group between students who received BBL learning and students who received PS learning. The results of the hypothesis test also show that there is an interaction between learning and KAM on increasing KBKM.xv

Based on the result of hypothesis testing student metacognition, there was increase between students who received BBL learning and students who received PS learning. The average N-Gain KM value of students who received BBL learning was higher than students who received PS learning respectively, namely 0,40 (medium category) and 0,20 (low category).
The conclusions form this research are, 1) the increase in critical mathematical thinking skills of students who receive BBL learning is higher than students who receive PS (scientific approach) learning; 2) the increase in metacognitive abilities of students who receive BBL learning is higher than students who receive PS learning; 3) there is an interaction between learning and Kam (high, medium, low) towards increasing critical mathematical thinking skills.
