Pengaruh Kompos Tandan Kosong Kelapa Sawit Dan Frekuensi Penyiraman Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Tanaman Cabai Merah (Capsicum Annum L.)
ABSTRACT
Red chili production in Riau province has decreased in the last three years. Efforts to increase production are carried out by adding empty oil palm bunches (EOPB) and watering. This study aims to determine the interaction of EOPB compost and watering frequency, single factor of EOPB compost and watering frequency as well as to obtain the best EOPB compost dose and watering frequency on the growth and yield of red chili plants. This research was conducted in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University in an experimental manner in a factorial form using a complete random design consisting of two factors. The first factor is EOPB which consists of 4 treatments, namely 0, 10, 20, and 30 ton.ha-1. The second factor is frequency watering which consists of 3 treatments, namely every day, 2 day, and once every 3 day. The research parameters of soil pH, moisture, stem size, stem diameter, number of fruits, and fruit weight. Data analysis was carried out using a variety of BNJ follow-up test fingerprints (5%). The results showed that there was no interaction between EOPB compost and watering frequency on all observation parameters. 20 and 30 ton.ha-1 EOPB is able to increase the growth and yield red chili plants in the parameters plant height, stem diameter, number of fruits plant, and weight of fruits plant. The frequency watering every 2 and 3 day increases the growth and yield of chili plants on the parameters of stem diameter, number of fruits plant, and weight of fruits plant.
