Simulasi Dan Analisis Penggunaan Distribution Static Compensator (Dstatcom) Terhadap Perubahan Beban
ABSTRACT
The quality of electrical power is highly influenced by the voltage stability in distribution systems. One of the most common power quality disturbances is voltage sag, which is a short-term reduction in voltage typically caused by sudden load changes. This voltage drop can negatively affect the performance of electrical equipment, especially sensitive devices. This study aims to simulate and analyze the use of a Distribution Static Compensator (DSTATCOM) to restore voltage during voltage sag conditions caused by load variations. Simulations were conducted on a three-phase distribution system under three voltage sag conditions, with voltage drops of 70%, 80%, and 90% from the nominal value of 1 pu. Before the installation of DSTATCOM, the system experienced voltage reductions in all phases down to 0.7 pu, 0.8 pu, and 0.9 pu, respectively. After the DSTATCOM was installed, simulation results showed that the voltage was successfully restored close to the nominal value. The highest voltage recovery occurred under the 70% voltage sag condition in phase C, where the voltage increased from 0.7 pu to 0.9879 pu, representing an improvement of 0.2879 pu. Overall, DSTATCOM was able to restore the voltage in all phases to above 0.95 pu, meeting the IEEE 1159-1995 standard which requires voltage to be within ±5% of the nominal value. Therefore, the implementation of DSTATCOM is proven to be effective in mitigating voltage sag due to load changes and improving power quality in distribution networks.
