Pengaruh Penambahan Limbah Plastik Polyethylene Terhadap Kuat Tekan Paving Block
ABSTRACT
Polyethylene waste is one of the plastic wastes that can be utilized in the
construction industry. This research aims to study the use of polyethylene waste as
a substitute for sand in the mixture for making paving blocks. The quality of paving
blocks is determined by compressive strength testing. This research was designed
with a mixture ratio of polyethylene, namely 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% (SNI 03-069),
with mold dimensions of 10 cm long, 10 cm wide, and 6 cm high (ASTM C 936-
82). The research results showed test code B 8.5 Mpa 10%, test code C 9.1 Mpa
15%, with incubation for 14 days, test code FC 8.6 Mpa 0%, test code A 9.6 Mpa
5%, test code B 9.1 Mpa 10%, test code C 8.9 Mpa 15%, test code D 8.7 Mpa 20%,
with incubation for 28 days. All test code results showed quality of paving blocks
with category D which are commonly used for parks and other uses.
