Diplomasi Pembangunan Indonesia Terhadap Kebijakan Belt And Road Initiative Oleh China Dalampembangunan Infrastruktur
The cooperation between Indonesia and China under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) plays a strategic role in accelerating national infrastructure development. This initiative aims to strengthen regional connectivity, stimulate economic growth, and enhance bilateral political relations. This study aims to analyze Indonesia's diplomatic strategy in utilizing the BRI, as well as to identify the challenges and opportunities arising from China-funded projects.
This research employs a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis, based on a review of academic literature and official government documents. It adopts the theory of development diplomacy to explain the role of international cooperation in supporting economic and social development.
The findings show that Indonesia adopts an active and selective diplomacy through negotiations and economic cooperation aligned with national interests. BRI projects have contributed to accelerating infrastructure development, particularly in the transportation and energy sectors. However, several challenges—including dependency on foreign financing, lack of transparency, and limited public participation—remain critical concerns. Therefore, stricter and more accountable policies are required to ensure that BRI projects generate long- term benefits for Indonesia’s economy and public welfare.
