Analisis Efisiensi Pemisahan Dan Pressure Drop Cyclone Separator Pada Spray Drying Dengan Menggunakan Metode Numerik
ABSTRACT
Coconut milk is a valuable food ingredient in Indonesia that can be preserved by Spray Drying to produce coconut powder. This study evaluates the performance of a Cyclone Separator, which is crucial for separating the powdered product from the air stream. Numerical simulations were conducted using the Discrete Phase Model (DPM) and the Reynolds Stress Model (RSM) at two air flow rates: 20 m³/h with temperatures of 110°C, 120°C, and 130°C, and 30 m³/h with temperatures of 130°C, 145°C, and 150°C. The results indicated a Pressure drop ranging from 373.29 Pa to 392.205 Pa at 20 m³/h and from 828.47 Pa to 845.14 Pa at 30 m³/h. The particle separation efficiency reached 98.7% for 30 μm particles at 30 m³/h
