Pengaruh Jarak Tanam Dan Pemberian Pupuk Npk Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Produksi Tanaman Jagung Manis (Zea Mays Saccharata Sturt.)
ABSTRACT
Sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt.) is an agricultural commodity that is highly favored by most Indonesians; however, its productivity declined 3.464 tons.ha⁻¹ in 2022 to 3.046 tons.ha⁻¹ in 2023. Sweet corn plants are influenced by both biotic and abiotic factors in terms of productivity, which can lead to a decrease in yield. The decline in sweet corn productivity is caused by improper cultivation techniques, insufficient nutrient availability, as well as climatic issues and improper plant spacing. The nutrients needed by the plants can be obtained from fertilizers, one of which is inorganic fertilizer. This study aims to examine the effects of the interaction between plant spacing and NPK fertilizer, the effect of plant spacing, the effect of NPK fertilizer, and to determine the best combination of treatments for the growth and production of sweet corn plants. This study used a factorial completely randomized design with two factors and three replications. The first factor was plant spacing: 70 cm x 30 cm, 70 cm x 40 cm, and 70 cm x 50 cm. The second factor was the dosage of NPK Mutiara fertilizer: 250 kg.ha⁻¹, 300 kg.ha⁻¹, and 350 kg.ha⁻¹. A total of 9 treatment combinations were obtained, each repeated three times, resulting in 27 experimental units. The results of the study showed that the combination of 70 cm x 40 cm planting spacing and 300 kg.ha⁻¹ NPK fertilizer dosage provided better outcomes for the growth and yield of Paragon sweet corn plants.
