ABSTRACT
Jalan Kaharudin Nasution in Pekanbaru City and Kampar Regency is a collector road with high traffic intensity that requires the availability of standard compliant road equipment facilities. This study aims to inventory and analyze the condition and needs of complementary structures and road equipment facilities along a 2,000-meter stretch based on field surveys and technical regulations.
The review results show that in the urban section, available facilities include traffic signals (APILL), traffic signs, road markings, and partial street lighting. However, in the outer city section, essential facilities such as street lighting, traffic signs, and road markings are largely unavailable. Based on the needs analysis, several facilities—such as additional street lighting, traffic signs, road markings, rumble strips, and supplementary APILL—are urgently required to support road user safety, especially around schools and public areas.
The overall evaluation concludes that the condition of road equipment along Jalan Kaharudin Nasution still does not meet the established standards. To improve traffic safety and flow, strategic planning for the addition and maintenance of these facilities is needed on an ongoing basis by local government as a part of improving public service in the transportation sector.
