ABSTRACT
Roads are vital facilities that need serious attention, so that the activities of people in a city become better. The Trans-Sumatra Road, the Border of Pekanbaru City and Pelelawan Regency, is one of the border roads in Pekanbaru City where the function of this road is used for the activities of road users every day. Therefore, adequate equipment facilities are needed to improve the safety of road users. Road equipment facilities have an important role in supporting the safety and smoothness of traffic. This study aims to evaluate road equipment on the Trans-Sumatra Road section, the Border of Pekanbaru City and Pelelawan Regency. The Trans-Sumatra Road, the border between Pekanbaru City and Pelelawan Regency, on the border between inner and outer city roads, is in great need of complete road facilities, such as street lighting, markings, traffic signs, and other equipment. The method used is a field survey with a quantitative descriptive approach, equipped with documentation and analysis of the suitability of technical facilities from the Ministry of Transportation. The results of the study indicate that road equipment facilities are inadequate 2 km and STA 1+000, such as incomplete street lighting, incomplete traffic signs, and invisible road markings to improve traffic safety and smoothness. Therefore, it is recommended that more 1 unit attention be paid by related parties to carry out routine maintenance and procurement 6 units of road equipment facilities that are not yet available 17 units to support a safe and efficient transportation system.
