Studi Analisis Genangan Banjir Pada Saluran Drainase Pasar Pagi Arengka Kota Pekanbaru
ABSTRACT
Pasar Pagi Arengka is one of the important areas and serves as an access route to the city center. Due to the conversion of green land, water inundation has occurred on several road segments in Pekanbaru City, particularly on one section of the Pasar Pagi Arengka road, as the runoff discharge can no longer be accommodated by the capacity of the existing drainage channel. This study aims to determine the capacity of the drainage channel that causes flood inundation due to its inability to drain rainwater discharge and to analyze the drainage system. The study was conducted using rainfall data obtained from the Meteorological Agency (BMKG) of Pekanbaru City through the website power.larc.nasa.gov, and discharge calculations were performed manually using the Rational Method to determine the design flood discharge. The results show that the capacity of the existing drainage system in the Pasar Pagi Arengka area is as follows: the existing discharge capacity at channel A-B is Qs = 10,434 m³/s. The results indicate that with a 10-year return period, the existing channel capacity is insufficient to accommodate the design flood discharge, resulting in flood inundation in the area. Based on the results of field observations, the cause of the waterlogging and flooding was identified as the difference in ground surface elevation and the accumulation of sediment in the existing drainage channel
