Analisis Hubungan Tingkat Kebisingan Dengan Noiseinduced Hearing Loss (Nihl) Pada Area Stasiun Kamar Mesin Di Pks. X Menggunakan Uji Odd Ratio
ABSTRACT
PKS. X in Tapung is one of the strategic business units in supporting the production
of crude palm oil (CPO). One of its main operational units is the engine room
station equipped with a Genset, Back Pressure Vessel (BPV), Turbine, and Main
Panel. This unit produces noise levels that exceed the Threshold Limit Value (NAB)
of 85 dB(A), thus risking hearing loss in workers. This study aims to analyze the risk
of noise in the PKS. X engine room station using the Odds-Ratio (OR) test. Noise
measurements were carried out at four points (Genset, BPV, Turbine, and Main
Panel) at four different times (10.00–11.00, 15.00–16.00, 19.00–20.00, and 21.00–
22.00 WIB) for two days using a Sound Level Meter (SLM). Workers' hearing loss
was tested using the Mimi Hearing Test, while age and length of service data were
obtained through questionnaires and interviews with 20 workers in the engine room
station area and 10 office workers. The results showed that the average noise level
exceeded the NAB, with BPV having the highest value of 95.3 and 95.4 dB(A). Based
on the NIOSH method, the maximum exposure time in the BPV area was 0.74 and
0.72 hours. OR analysis showed that workers aged ≥ 40 years at the engine room
station had a risk of 2.60 and 1.50 in the office were more likely to experience NIHL,
work period ≥ 5 years at the engine room station was 2.33 and 6.0 in the office were
more likely to experience NIHL, exposure to noise and frequency at 13.5.
Recommended controls include routine maintenance, installation of dampers such
as rockwool, noise signs, and the use of earmuff PPE which is more effective than
earplugs.
