Analisis Nilai-Nilai Moral Pada Kesenian TeaterMakyong Mantang, Kabupaten Bintan,Kepulauan Riau

This research is based on the analysis of moral values contained in the traditional theater
art of Makyong Mantang, located in Bintan Regency, Riau Islands. The research questions are:
what forms of moral values are present in the Makyong Mantang theater, and how are these
moral values conveyed through the performance? The purpose of this study is to identify and
highlight the moral values embedded within Makyong theater, as well as to encourage the
community to preserve and sustain this cultural heritage. The data collection techniques used
in this research include observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants in this
study consist of five individuals: Makyong Mantang performers, a representative from the
cultural division of the Bintan Malay Traditional Institution (LAM), the Head of Mantang
Lama Village, the Chairperson of Makyong Mantang, and a local community figure from
Mantang. The data analysis technique used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach.
The findings of this study indicate that the Makyong theater contains significant moral values.
This traditional performance art is a well-known form of theater originating from the Mantang
community, particularly from Mantang Lama Village.
