              Abstract
ABSTRAK
This study aims to analyze the interest in reading scientific articles of PGSD
FKIP University of Riau students. This study aims to analyze the reading interest
of students of the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD)
FKIP University of Riau towards scientific articles. The background of this study
is based on the results of interviews with three PGSD lecturers who showed
differences in views regarding the level of students' reading interest. This study
uses a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. Data were collected
through a closed questionnaire distributed to PGSD students from 2021 to 2024.
The results of this study indicate variations in the level of reading interest between
classes. The 2021 class has a reading interest with a percentage of 70.2% which is
considered high. The 2022 class recorded the highest reading interest with a
percentage of 72% including the high category. The 2023 class recorded a
percentage of 63% which had the lowest score compared to other classes, even so
the percentage of the 2023 class is included in the high category. Meanwhile, the
2024 class showed a reading interest with a percentage of 69.1%. Thus, based on
the results of this study, it can be concluded that the interest in reading scientific
articles of PGSD FKIP Universitas Riau students is included in the high category,
but there are several things that need to be considered and improved.
