Pengaruh Fly Ash Dan Bahan Organik Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Tanaman Kacang Hijau (Vigna Radiata L.) Di Tanah Ultisol
ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the effect of fly ash and organic matter application on the growth and yield of mung bean (Vigna radiata L.) in Ultisol. Ultisol is a marginal soil type that is widely available in Indonesia, characterized by low fertility and high acidity. Fly ash, a by product of coal combustion, has potential as a soil conditioner but also contains aluminum (Al). Organic matter, which can bind Al, can enhance the fertility of Ultisol. This experiment was conducted at the Experimental Garden and Soil Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. This research was conducted experimentally in a factorial form arranged according to a split plot design with a completely randomized design (CRD). The main plots were three different doses of fly ash (0, 12.5, 25 g/medium ) and the subplots were four different doses of organic matter (0, 9.6 ml of cow urine per polybag, 25 g/medium of cow manure, 10 g/medium of bokashi cow manure). The data obtained were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The data were further analyzed using Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the 5% level, and the analysis was conducted using SAS. The parameters observed included initial soil chemistry and soil chemistry after fly ash treatment, number of pods, percentage of pods, dry seed weight per plant, dry seed weight per plant, root volume, and percentage of effective root nodules. The results showed that fly ash application increased pH, C-organik and decreasing Al-dd, but had no effect on C-organic. The application of cow manure at different fly ash doses increased the number of pods, percentage of pods, dry seed weight per plant, root volume, and percentage of effective root nodules. The application of fly ash at doses of 12.5 and 25 g per polybag did not significantly differ from no fly ash in terms of the number of pods, percentage of pods, dry seed weight per plant, and root volume, but it significantly increased the percentage of effective root nodules. The application of 25 g of cow manure per polybag increased the growth and yield of mung beans in Ultisol soil more than cow urine and bokashi cow manure at various doses of fly ash.
