students’ perception on picture media for learning english vocabulary in junior high school
This study aims to examine the perception of students from the
Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Fajar Pekanbaru in learning vocabulary using picture
media. The method used is quantitative descriptive with questionnaire to describe
and analyze on the student’s perception using Likert scale to obtain perception,
which includes five categories: Strongly Agree, Agree, Neutral, Disagree, and
Strongly Disagree. Data were collected through questionnaire which contained 25
questions that related to their perception on picture media for learning vocabulary
using descriptive analysis. The results showed that most students fell into the
"Strongly Agree", "Agree", and “Neutral” categories, which is their most score
ranking is “Very Positive” when they learning vocabulary using picture media.
They can comprehend in learning vocabulary. The study suggests that in teaching
English using picture media, teachers should be patient and skillful in using
technology, so that students develop a strong interest in learning and enjoy the
process, without it being more difficult than conventional methods. These
findings are expected to serve as a foundation for further development of students'
vocabulary skills in the future.
