Education is the most important investment for every nation in an effort to educate the nation, because education can change the status of a nation into a better nation. For Indonesian education is the right container in his efforts in educating the nation, such as national education goals set forth in the Constitution of 1945. Institutions (formal, non-formal or informal) is a transfer of knowledge and culture (civilization). The purpose of this study was to determine the role of educational institutions in Advancing Education tribe village Akit Selatbaru District of Bantan Bengkalis, to determine the supporting factors and barriers to education institutions in advancing public education Tribe village Akit Selatbaru District of Bantan Bengkalis, to determine the response of society Tribe Akit the presence of educational institutions in rural districts Selatbaru Bantan Bengkalis. The method used in this study is the historical method and qualitative methods. Data were obtained from interviews later described in his own language. The research location is in the village of the District Selatbaru Bantan Bengkalis. When the study started from the seminar proposal to the Thesis exam. Data collection techniques used are observation, interview techniques, technical documentation and technical literature. From this research, there are some institutions that play a role in advancing society is primarily Tribe Akit State Elementary School 32 Selatbaru which is located in the middle of human settlements Tribe Akit so fishing children's motivation to join the Tribe Akit existing educational activities. With the presence of this school in 2010 had no children graduated Akit tribe in the village of Selatbaru where prior to the establishment of this school is very difficult for children to attend school Akit tribe, this is due to the existing school distance away and the state of the local economy Tribe Akit the average is very low.
