Rancangan Pabrik Akrolein Proses Oksidasi Propena Dengan Desain Alat Utama Kolom Absorpsi Akrolein (T-301)

ABSTRACT
Acrolein is an intermediate material in the manufacture of chemicals, especially the manufacture of acrylic acid. In addition, acrolein is widely used in the agricultural industry as a biocide and the manufacturing industry as a material for making polymers and plastics. Demand for acrolein has a global market opportunity to reach 1.13 million tons in 2022 and is expected to increase by 3.2% until 2033. The need for acrolein in Indonesia is still met by imports so that the construction of an acrolein plant in Indonesia has the potential to be a profitable investment.
The location of the plant is planned in Gunung Sugih Village, Ciwandan District, Cilegon, Banten. With a planned production capacity of 30,000 tons/year, the establishment of the acrolein plant is expected to meet domestic acrolein needs and reduce import dependence. The acrolein plant requires utilities in the form of utility water and steam of 116,460.49 kg/hour and electricity of 971.70 kW/hour. Utility water is processed using the principles of coagulation and flocculation, while plant waste is treated using an activated sludge process.
The results of the economic analysis with total capital investment (TCI) of Rp2,083,805,076,164, total production cost (TPC) of Rp1,174,942,676,038, and working capital investment (WCI) of Rp312,570,761,425. Revenue from the sale of acrolein products amounted to Rp2,114,711,294,347/year. From the profitability analysis, a net present value (NPV) with a discount rate of IDR 2,949,321,340,634 was obtained, an internal rate of return (IRR) of 24.66%, a breakeven point (BEP) occurred at a production capacity of 36.52%, and a payback period (PBP) of 2.86 years. The profitability analysis results show that the acrolein plant is feasible to establish and is a profitable investment.
