Uji Konsentrasi Ekstrak Daun Pepaya (Carica Papaya L.) Terhadap Mortalitas Hama Ulat Grayak (Spodoptera Litura F) Pada Tanaman Kedelai (Glycine Max L.)
ABSTRACT
Soybean (Glycine max L.) is the main food crop after rice and corn. One of the problems faced in soybean cultivation is the attack of armyworms (Spodoptera litura). Yield losses due to pest attacks can reach 80% or even crop failure if not controlled. Papaya leaf (Carica papaya L.) botanical pesticide can be a safe alternative for controlling S. litura. This study aims to obtain an effective concentration of papaya leaf extract against S. litura mortality. The study was conducted at the Plant Pest Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from January to March 2025, using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments with 4 replications. The treatment application consisted of concentrations 0 gl-1 water, 25 gl-1 water, 50 gl-1 water, 75 gl-1 waterand 100 gl-1 waterpapaya leaf extract. The observation parameters carried out were the initial time of death, lethal time 50, lethal concentration 50 and 95, daily mortality, total mortality and changes in morphology and behavior of test larvae. Data from the analysis of variance that have a significant effect will be continued using the honest significant difference (BNJ) further test at the 5% level. The results of the study showed that the application of papaya leaf extract had a significant effect on pest mortality Spodoptera litura. The effective concentration for S. litura mortality is the concentration 100 gl-1 watercausing a total mortality of 80.0% with an initial time of death of 3.50 hours after application and a lethal time of 50 at 26.25 hours after application.
