Keanekaragaman Makrofauna Dan Mesofauna Tanah Di Berbagai Tutupan Lahan Kampus Universitas Riau
ABSTRACT
The study aims to compare the diversity of soil macrofauna and mesofauna on various land covers on the University of Riau campus. The research location consists of 5 types of land cover including the Arboretum of Riau University, grass land cover, oil palm land cover A (Marihat), experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, and oil palm land cover B (Lonsum). Macrofauna were collected using the hand sorting method and soil mesofauna collection was carried out using the Barlese-Tullgren funnel soil extraction method. The calculation results showed that the population density of soil macrofauna had the highest value in the Arboretum land cover with a value of 3872 ind/m2. Soil mesofauna showed different population density calculation results where the highest value was found in grass land cover (2016 ind/m2). The Shannon-Weiner diversity index (H‟) and evenness index (E) of soil macrofauna and soil mesofauna had similar results, where grass land cover had a higher value than other land covers. The dominance index (C) of soil macrofauna and soil mesofauna had different results, where the highest value was in the experimental garden land cover. The dominance of soil macrofauna and mesofauna in each land cover was included in low dominance, indicating that the macrofauna and mesofauna communities were quite balanced with a relatively even distribution of species and were not too dominated by only one species.
