Kebiasaan Makan Ikan Bujuk (Channa Lucius Cv, 1831) Di Danau Teluk Banderas, Desa Rantau Baru Kecamatan Pangkalan Kerinci Kabupaten Pelalawan
Channa lucius or known as bujuk fish inhabits slow-flowing swamp that is inundated during the rainy season. Bujuk fish is categorized as a carnivore based on its food habits, as it predominantly consumes fish and shrimp. This study aimed to examine the food habits of C. lucius, focusing on food types, the percentage composition of each food item, and the dominant dietary components consumed by the fish in Teluk Banderas. The research was conducted from June to August 2023. A total of 30 fish were captured, but only 25 specimens with full stomach, while the others had empty stomach. Stomach content analysis was performed using a gravimetric method, where each food item was weighed. Data on the food types were then used to calculate the Index of Preponderance (IP). The results revealed that the primary diet of C. lucius consisted of fish (PI 58%), while shrimp served as a secondary food source (PI 19.57%). Based on these findings, the bujuk fish can be classified as a carnivorous species. The water quality parameters of the lake during the study were as follows: temperature 28–30°C, transparency 45–58 cm, pH 5, and dissolved oxygen (DO) 3.24–3.52 mg/L.
