Penerapan Value Engineering Pada Modifikasi Sepeda Motor Menjadi Sepeda Motor Roda Tiga
ABSTRACT
Motorcycles are vehicles commonly used by the public to help with daily activities in achieving certain goals. In addition to motorcycles, three-wheeled motor vehicles are also used, especially for the needs of transporting goods. The advantages of three-wheeled vehicles in transporting goods make this vehicle unaffordable for all groups, including small and medium-sized businesses. Modifying a two-wheeled motorcycle into a three-wheeled vehicle can be done to increase the ability of the motorcycle as a means of transporting goods while saving costs in terms of price and operational costs. The needs of small business actors in terms of goods transport are known through the distribution of functions and quality by considering the technical aspects of modifying a two-wheeled motorcycle into a three-wheeled vehicle. Value Engineering (VE) is a method that can be applied in modifying a two-wheeled motorcycle into a three-wheeled vehicle, where this method is a translation of used to distinguish and separate between what is needed and what is not needed. Where alternatives can be developed that meet needs and leave what is not needed at the lowest cost but the performance remains the same or even better. It is expected that from the application of value engineering, savings will be obtained by paying attention to the quality specifications of the finished product including Cost Savings, Time Savings, and Material Savings.
