This research was motivated by problems discovered by researchers, namely (1) some children still don't know the sound of several letters of the alphabet, (2) some children still can't spell some words, (3) some children still don't know how to speak fluently. when reading, and (4) some children are still not very good at holding writing tools, such as pencils. The aim of this research is to determine the early literacy abilities of children aged 5-6 years at the FKIP UNRI Kindergarten. This research is quantitative research with descriptive research type. The population of this study was 30 children at the FKIP UNRI Kindergarten, the sample used was 30 children. The sampling technique used a saturated sample of 30 children. A saturated sample is a determining sample if all members are used as research subjects. Based on data from research conducted on children aged 5-6 years at FKIP UNRI Kindergarten, the first indicator was obtained with a score of 83 or 62.88%, the second indicator with a score of 59 or 44.77%, the third indicator with a score of 58 or 43, 94%, the fourth indicator 72 or 54.55%, the fifth indicator with a score of 97 or 73.48%, and the sixth indicator with a score of 89 or 67.42%. It can be concluded that the overall indicator score is 458 or 57.83% of what was expected. The indicator that got the highest score, namely imitating the shape of vowels, consonants and syllables, was obtained with a score of 97 or 73.48% of what was expected and the indicator that got the lowest score was recognizing groups of pictures based on nouns, verbs, adjectives that have sounds. /the same initial letter symbol was obtained with a score of 58 or 43.94% of expected.
