pengaruh kepercayaan diri terhadap prokrastinasi akademik siswa program keahlian akuntansi dan keuangan lembaga di smk muhammadiyah 2 pekanbaru
This study aims to determine the effect of self-confidence on academic procrastination among students in the Accounting and Financial Institution Expertise Program at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru. The background of this research stems from the widespread tendency of students to delay academic tasks, which is suspected to be related to low levels of self-confidence. This quantitative study employed a correlational design and simple linear regression analysis. The entire population of 97 students was used as the sample through a census sampling technique. The research instruments included validated and reliable questionnaires on self-confidence and academic procrastination. The results indicated that most students had a moderate level of self-confidence (51%) and a moderate level of academic procrastination (33%). Hypothesis testing showed a significant negative correlation between self-confidence and academic procrastination (r = -0.600, p < 0.05), implying that the higher the students' self-confidence, the lower their tendency to procrastinate academically. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.360, indicating that 36% of the variance in academic procrastination was explained by self-confidence. These findings highlight the importance of enhancing students' self-confidence as a means to reduce academic procrastination.
