Hubungan Derajat Infestasi Soil Transmitted Helminths Dengan Status Gizi Pada Anak SD Di Daerah Pesisir Sungai Kecamatan Sabak Auh Kabupaten Siak Riau
Infestation of soil transmitted helminths (STH) is one of the world’s health problem particularly in developing countries like Indonesia. The most common infestation to be found is caused by Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura and Ancylostoma duodenale. The highest prevalence is found in primary students. These children fall under vulnerable groups to encounter nutritional problems particularly malnutrition. The aim of this research was to determine the relation between degree of infestation of STH with primary students’ nutritional status at the coastal area of the river in Sabak Auh District, Siak Regency. This research was using analytic method with cross sectional approach that was done on January 2017. Samples were collected using proportional random sampling technique and 82 samples were found. Results showed that 29 students (35,4%) were infected and 42 (51,2%) fell under nutritional status. All of the infected students have mild degree of infestation that bivariate analysis test could not be done to find out the relation between STH’s degree of infestation with nutritional status.
