Prevalensi Dan Faktor Risiko Prehipertensi Dan Hipertensi Pada Mahasiswa Profesi Dokter Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Riau Tahun 2020

Prehypertension and hypertension were caused by various of risk factors.
Prehypertension and hypertension were quite worrying because their prevalence
were high and tend to increase. Prehypertension and hypertension started became
a problem because it’s begun to be found in young adults (18-29 years old) and
often undiagnosed. This research aims to determine the prevalence and risk factors
of prehypertension and hypertension among co-assistant in the Faculty of
Medicine, University of Riau in 2020. This research used observational descriptive
method and was conducted from October 2020 - April 2021. From 123 samples that
consist of 33 (26,8%) male and 90 (73,2%) female was found that prevalence of
prehypertension was 23,6% and 9,8% other had hypertension. The risk factors
acquired include male gender (26.8%), family history of hypertension (35.8%),
body mass index overweight (23.6%) and obese (27.6%), light physical activity
(0,8%), very severe stress levels (24.4%), poor sleep quality (87%) and smokers
(0.8%).
