Abstract
To support efforts to develop unmanned fast boat technology in Indonesia. Among the many components of the propulsion system on Unmanned Fast Ships, one of them is the propeller. The propeller is a ship's mechanical propulsion device that accelerates the movement of water towards the rear of the propeller to produce thrust (thrust). In other terms, converting power into rotational force from the motor to the propeller shaft so that the ship moves due to the thrust from the output of the propulsion system. The manufacture of propellers is carried out by the Hand Lay Up method and uses composite fiber and areca fiber materials with variations in the number of blades, namely two-blades, three-blades and four-blades. The aim is to produce a propeller with the type of FPP (Fixed Pith Propeller) made of composite fiber and areca fiber. In the propeller manufacturing process, high accuracy is required in the process of inserting materials such as resin, areca fiber and composite fiber so that the material becomes dense and even. From the results of manufacture and testing, the results obtained include that of the two types of materials, namely composite fiber and areca fiber with the FPP type, it has been successfully made and can be used on unmanned fast boats.
