Sistem Kendali Gerak Otomatis Mesin Fsw (Friction Stir Welding)
ABSTRACT
Friction Stir Welding is a machine used for solid-state welding to join materials, especially dissimilar materials. In carrying out the friction stir welding process, it must be supported by technology that can facilitate the operator in its use and analysis of welding results. In order for the machine to function according to design, a friction stir welding machine requires a circuit control system that functions as the brain of the machine. The purpose of this research is to design a series of control systems and produce varying rotational and welding speeds on a friction stir welding machine. All machining parameters are set and operated through a control system so that the machine can operate according to the design in three axes. In the design of the control system, 4 stepper motors are used as a drive for the x, y and z axes, where on the y axis there are 2 stepper motors that move simultaneously while on the x and z axes 1 stepper motor each. Selection of control element data is a step that must be done in this design. The control elements consisting of Arduino Uno, Breakout Board, Motor Driver, Stepper Motor, Spindle Motor, Limit Switch, and Power Supply are assembled according to the schematic control design. The control system is connected to a Laptop/PC via the Open Build Control software which will be used to drive the actuators. Before the welding process is carried out, the control system needs to be calibrated so that the dimensions of the machine movement match the dimensions of the Laptop/PC. The control system on the friction stir welding machine has a limit switch that is designed to use a close loop system as a feedback sensor to the machine. If an error occurs on the track, the sensor will order the machine to return to its original position (coordinates 0,0,0).
