Analisis Indeks Kekeringan Meteorologis Lahan Gambut Di Pulau Tebing Tinggi Provinsi Riau Menggunakan Data Satelit Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (Trmm)

Therefore, the index analysis of drought index had to be done in order to find out the drought level so that it can be used as early warning and decrease the drought level in the congregation region. The calculation of meteorology drought level as the first indication of drought conditions, merely affected by the rainfall numbers. One of method used to obtain rainfall data was to utilize Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) satellite data from 2009-2016. The location of research object was Tebing Tinggi island that had large peatlands area and prone to fire occurrence. Tebing Tinggi island is divided into 21 grids. This research uses SPI (Standardized Precipitation Index) method based on rainfall data half monthly days period and monthly month period for every grid of Tebing Tinggi island. The result of drought index SPI was correlated to the fire occurrence and was mapped using Geography Information System (GIS). In monthly period, the severe fire occurrence happened in 11 grid, on February 2014 there were 290 hotspots with drought index up to -3,056 (Very Dry). in half monthly period on first half of February there were 200 hotspots with drought index -1.939 (Dry) and the second half of February there were 90 hotspots with drought index up to -4,285 (Very Dry). In this research the result also showed that some fire occurrence indeed affected by its SPI value, but also affected by the previous SPI value, and it was able to be seen more detail in the 15 days period.
