Meningkatkan Kemampuan Membaca Awal Melalui Bermain Kartu Huruf Pada Anak Usia 5-6 Tahun Di Taman Kanak-Kanak Nurul Asyifa Kecamatan Dumai Timur Kota Dumai
Based on observations in the field, reading ability is still low. This is due to lack of props used by teachers as a medium in reading so that reading is boring for children. This study aims to improve the reading skills through playing alphabet cards Group B in kindergarten Nurul Asyifa Eastern District of Dumai. The method used is the Classroom Action Research (PTK). The study subjects were children Nurul Asyifa Kindergarten, group B which amounted to 14 people, consisting of 5 boys and 9 girls. Data on the reading skills of children in the study was obtained from the observation sheet analyzed by percentage. Based on the results of data processing and observation of the child's reading ability was observed for each cycle, the reading ability of 43.45% with a pre-cycle began to develop criteria (MB), the first cycle gained an average of 50.59% with criteria ranging developing (MB) and the second cycle obtain an average of 86.31% with developing criteria is very good (BSB). An increase from the pre cycle to first cycle is 16.43%, from the first cycle to the second cycle amounted to 70.60% and from the pre cycle to second cycle increased by 98.64%. therefore it can be concluded that by playing the alphabet card can improve reading skills of children in Nurul Asyifa Kindergarten Eastern District of Dumai City.
