Analisis Kebutuhan Ruang Terbuka Hijau (Rth) Publik Dalam Menyerap Emisi Karbon Dioksida (Co2) Dari Kegiatan Transportasi Di Kecamatan Mandau
Mandau Sub-district is an area that has potential to be producer of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from transportation activities in Riau Province. Therefore, provision of green open space (GOS) is indispensable in overcoming problems increase greenhouse gases emissions, especially CO2 emissions. This research was conducted to find out the number of motorized vehicles and the value of CO2 emissions produced every day and the value of absorption ability of CO2 emissions from transportation activities in Mandau Sub-district by GOS. The method used is recording traffic activities to calculate the value of CO2 emissions and calculating all public GOS with the types of vegetation cover, in the form of grassland and trees which has diameters ≥ 20 cm, and calculate the percentage of GOS absorption capacity. The results of the research, obtained the number of motorized vehicles and the largest value of CO2 emissions on Monday, which was 19,093 pcu/day with CO2 emission values of 139,596,205.87 tons CO2/year. While the percentage of CO2 absorption capacity by GOS is obtained at 7,55%. This indicates that the existing GOS in Mandau Sub-district hasn’t fulfilled the absorption of CO2 emissions from transportation activities in Mandau Sub-district.
