Status Trofik Danau Pekak Kecamatan Siak Hulu Kabupaten Kampar Berdasarkan Index Trix
There are several human activities such as fishing and palm plantation around the Pekak Lake and thus the pollutant originated from those activities may enter the water and affects the trophic state of the lake. The Trophic Index (TRIX) can be used to determine the trophic status of the water based on chemical and biological parameters. A research aims to understand the trophic status of the Pekak Lake based on Vollenweider’s Trophic Index (TRIX) has been conducted from April to May 2018. There were 3 sampling points, namely in the inlet, middle part of the lake, and the end area of the lake. In each sampling point there are 2 sampling points namely in the surface (20 cm) and 2 secchi depth (75 cm). Sampling were conducted 3 times, once/week. Water quality parameters measured were DIN, total phosphorus, dissolved oxygen, chlorophyll-a, transparency, temperature, and pH. Results shown that the transparency was 65.5-78.8cm, temperature was 29-30 °C, pH was 5, DIN was 0.18-0.24 mg/L, total phosphorus was 0.16 - 0.24 mg/L, oxygen saturation was 68.54 - 77.75%, chlorophyll-a was 8.09-10.08 µg/L. Trophic Index (TRIX) value of the Pekak Lake was 4.47-6.52 and it indicates that the Pekak Lake was hypereutrophic.
