The development of an agricultural commodity from an economic aspect is highly dependent on the level of income or business feasibility. An efficient trading system will create a fair situation for farmers as producers and the general population as consumers. The purpose of this study was to identify the trading channel and analyze the efficiency of commodity trading in wetland rice from farmers to consumers in Rokan Koto Village, Rokan IV Koto Subdistrict, Koto, Rokan Hulu District. The population in this study were all rice farmers in Rokan Koto Ruang Village, as many as 68 farmers. This research uses purposive sampling technique in determining the research sample, so that 36 farmers, 1 collector, 2 milling people, 2 wholesaler and 2 retail traders as the research sample were obtained. Data taken from respondents using a research questionnaire. The analytical method used in this study is quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that there are five institutions in the rice paddy system (rice) trading system in Rokan Koto Ruang Village, namely farmers as producers of rice, collectors, mills, wholesalers, and retail traders. The trading channels formed in the rice paddy system (rice) trading system have four channels. Channel 1 is the longest channel and involves many trading institutions compared to other channels. Channel 4 is the shortest channel that involves a small number of trade institutions within the channel. Trading margins, farmer's shares and profit and cost ratios show that rice fields in rice fields in Rokan Koto Ruang Village have channel 4 that is relatively more efficient compared to the other channels. To increase income, farmers are expected to add value to rice paddy (rice) so as to produce products such as flour and other food ingredients.Keywords : Farmers,Rice Paddy, Institutions and Trading Channels, Business Efficiency. .
