Pengaruh Suhu Dan Waktu Pirolisis Dalam Pembuatan Asap Cair Dari Limbah Kulit Durian
Liquid smoke is a result of condensation from direct or indirect combustion of steam from materials containing lignin, cellulose, hemicellulose by condensing pyrolysis of liquid smoke. Durian peel proportionally contains high cellulose (50-60%) and lignin content (5%), and low starch content (5%) so that it can be used as a raw material for making liquid smoke. In this research, identification of the effect of temperature and time of pyrolysis on the pyrolysis process of durian skin waste into liquid smoke. The permanent variable in this study was durian peel as much as 500 grams, while the variable that changed was the operating conditions performed were the temperature of pyrolysis 240 ° C, 280 ° C, and 320 ° C with pyrolysis time each for 45 minutes, 60 minutes, and 75 minute. The method for making liquid smoke is the preparation of raw materials; consists of washing, reducing size, blending and drying raw materials; pyrolysis process; and analyzing liquid smoke. The parameters measured in the analysis of liquid smoke are qualitative analysis of phenol, density, pH, acid content, viscosity, and yield. Based on the analysis, the resulting liquid smoke contains phenol compounds. Density of liquid smoke obtained is 0,948 - 0,959 gr / ml; pH value of 2.6-3; viscosity worth 0.8773 - 0.953 cP, and yields valued at 6.713% - 10.05%. From this research, temperature and time affect the quality of liquid smoke. Liquid smoke can be upgraded to grade 2 quality by filtering liquid smoke using zeolite. After filtering, the pH obtained decreases.
